Calling All Iron Golems

Iron golems are a great way to protect a village because they are strong and adorable while they are at it. They will become hostile when in contact with mobs, raids, or players who have attacked them, otherwise they are considered neutral mobs. There are two main ways to get an iron golem.

Villager Gossip

Villagers and iron golems share a close bond, iron golems will even occasionally offer poppies to villagers. Iron golems can be created by villager gossip or panic. When villagers feel like they are in danger (ie. raid or nearby mobs), they will frantically run around in panic. This can cause up to 10 attempts of an iron golem to be spawned. Villagers can also gossip around a town bell if they haven't seen many iron golems or if they have recently been in danger. This will also prompt iron golems to spawn.

Build One

Iron golems can be crafted using four iron blocks in a 'T' shape and placing a carved pumpkin on top. If done correctly, an iron golem should instantly replace the iron and pumpkin. Take care of your iron golem! They can take damage and this is marked by cracks on their body. You can repair them by 'feeding' them iron ingots. Happy Mining.
