First Building & Storage

Now that you've got a good plan, it's time to start fleshing out the details of your village. I always recommend that your first building is any tower. Not only will this help you with defense, but it also helps give your village a historical starting building. Before the game recognizes your village as a village, you will probably run into Patrols or Pillager patrols. Having a tower allows you to easily defend your town through archery in these early stages or as a safe place to hideout.

After you complete your first real building, you can move into it and say goodbye to your dirt hut or whatever you used for a starter home. This is a good time to start organizing your storage so that you have a solid system for sorting and don't have to do it later when there is more to organize. I break my starting chests down into several categories: Plants, Wood, Stone, Tools & Weapons, Food, and Misc. Later on, we will divide these up in more detail, this is just a way to help keep all your materials organized at the beginning.
